The Bench

Every Rooted Bench is custom built around a specific tree and garden.

The design considers not only the tree itself, but also the wider context and atmosphere of the garden so that it feels naturally at home within its surroundings.

The standard design has no backrest, allowing seating from either side and different perspectives to be enjoyed. Where desired, a backrest can be incorporated into part of the bench.

The frame is manufactured from laser-cut and welded mild steel, chosen for its strength, durability and flexibility. This allows the structure to be adapted to a wide range of shapes while maintaining a simple and robust design. In most cases, the steel is left unpainted and untreated to retain a natural appearance.

The seating is crafted from green oak, a timber whose warmth and character deepen with age.

The result is a unique and enduring place to sit, notice the changing light and seasons, and enjoy the quiet presence of a garden.
