Commissioning a Rooted Bench

Each bench begins with a tree and a conversation

Every Rooted Bench is designed for a particular tree and the people who will enjoy it.

We’re located in the South East of England. The process begins with a visit to your garden, where we’ll spend some time looking at the tree, discussing how you wish to use the bench and imagining how the bench would best reflect the space. Measurements and photographs, paying attention to the tree and the character and layout of your garden.

From there, a bespoke design that responds to both the tree and its surroundings will be created. Once you’re happy with the design, a steel frame will be fabricated specifically for your bench, timber will be prepared and eventually, the bench will be installed in its new home.

Because every Rooted Bench is unique, there is no standard price. The cost depends on the size of the bench, the complexity of the design, the choice of timber and the travel required for installation.

The result is a bench created for one tree, one garden and one place alone.
